Ms. Valarie Tran

Valarie Tran became the product lead for the Accessions Information Environment (AIE) product office in May 2024. She leads the team responsible for the acquisition, deployment and sustainment of modernized AIE capabilities for talent acquisition Army-wide.

From 2016 to 2024, Tran held numerous leadership positions at the General Services Administration (GSA), managing transformational initiatives for the Federal Acquisition Services (FAS) Centers of Excellence and Shared Services. She implemented Agile concepts to deliver a Contract Acquisition Lifecycle Management enterprise solution to the FAS acquisition workforce and suppliers. Tran also led product teams and was responsible for a $60 million+ enterprise-level IT system portfolio, which included market research tools, a contract writing system, sales reporting solutions and a catalog management platform.

Before joining GSA, Tran was an assistant program manager at the Defense Health Agency managing overall requirements development and industry engagement for the operation medical (theater) capabilities for the Defense Department's electronic health record system. During that time, Tran gained extensive experience in complex IT systems procurement, contracting strategy, program management and implementation of commercial off-the-shelf and customized solutions.

From 2010 to 2012, Tran was a lead program analyst for the Department of the Navy, where she provided oversight; statutory and regulatory compliance; and program reviews for major IT and communication programs collectively worth more than $525 million.

Prior to federal service, Tran served as a contractor supporting the procurement, testing and fielding of multiple products and systems for Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.

Tran earned a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Maryland. She is a Project Management Professional and Scaled Agile Framework® Agilist.
