FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. – U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems' (PEO EIS) Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) completed the fielding of its Enterprise Aviation (EAVN) solution to more than 3,300 Army users worldwide at the end of September 2023. The solution, which will provide commanders and managers with near real-time aviation combat readiness and maintenance information, will be fielded to a few remaining Army Aviation units when they return from deployments.

As part of the fielding effort, GCSS-Army team members developed deployment plans, prepared the user community, validated force structures, migrated and cleansed aviation data, developed and taught new equipment training, and provided over-the-shoulder coaching support to new EAVN solution users across all three Army components. Users are in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam, as well as at active-duty Army Aviation units worldwide, including Honduras, the Sinai, the Marshall Islands and Kosovo.

The GCSS-Army team managed the rollout’s complex scheduling process by dividing Army Aviation units into fielding groups, which enabled multiple units to receive the new functionality and associated training simultaneously, either in-person or in virtual format. This process shortened the overall fielding timeframe and reduced the amount of travel required for fielding teams.

“The EAVN fielding completion represents another significant contribution to the Army's combat readiness through improved information management technology,” said Kevin Curry, project manager for Defense Integrated Business Systems, which manages the EAVN program.

The EAVN solution fielding process was wrapped up nearly one year after Army Acquisition Executive Douglas Bush granted PEO EIS the authority to proceed with full system deployment of EAVN.

On Sept. 27, senior leaders from the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama recognized the dedication and effort of the GCSS-Army EAVN fielding team in a short ceremony.
