PEO EIS Welcomes Brigadier General Patrick W. Burden in Change of Charter Ceremony
November 29, 2016 – Ms. Terry Watson, Acting Program Executive Officer Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS), officially relinquished the PEO EIS charter to BG Patrick W. Burden, former Deputy PEO Ammunition and Senior Commander Picatinny Arsenal, in a Change of Charter ceremony held today on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The ceremony was hosted by Army Acquisition Executive, Ms. Steffanie Easter.
Ms. Watson was selected as Acting PEO EIS for a second time in November 2015, having previously served in this role from May to October 2011. Throughout her long and successful career with PEO EIS, Ms. Watson has held almost every position in the PEO, from fielding and budget to Deputy PEO, a position she resumes November 29. Her guidance has been instrumental in transforming the Army enterprise through innovative acquisition and material readiness solutions that enable information dominance and the PEO EIS mission of supporting every Soldier, every day, everywhere.
BG Burden held the position of Deputy PEO Ammunition and Senior Commander Picatinny Arsenal from October 2014 to November 2016. In this role, he led the mission to develop and procure conventional and leap-ahead munitions to increase the Warfighter's combat power.
Before his arrival at Picatinny, BG Burden served as the Deputy to the Deputy for Acquisition and Systems Management for the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology). Prior to that position, BG Burden led two PEO EIS programs, as the Project Manager for the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), an enterprise resource planning system within the PEO EIS portfolio, and the Product Manager, Joint-Automatic Identification Technology (J-AIT), now part of the Product Lead Automated Movement and Identification Solutions (AMIS).
“It is my distinct pleasure to return to PEO EIS to lead this remarkable team of Soldiers, Civilians and contractors,” said BG Burden. “PEO EIS’ accomplishments are well-respected throughout the acquisition community, as is its dedication to a diverse, complicated and vital mission – connecting the global Army.”
“Terry Watson has led this organization seamlessly and with great success through two transitions, in addition to having served as Deputy PEO for more than five years,” he continued. “She is an extraordinary leader who has been the heart of the organization. Her commitment to the well-being of the team, the mission, and the future of PEO EIS is commendable, and I join the team in thanking her for her leadership.”
