PEO EIS is continuing its phased, strategic reorganization for success to better align its capabilities and assets with Army priorities and the PEO’s new “Data” mission area.

It’s been a busy, productive year. I am very proud of the team for all that we have been able to accomplish despite the challenges of the COVID-19 environment.

Mr. Ross Guckert, program executive officer for PEO EIS, manages a $4.3 billion annual budget that supports 36 program offices and 71 acquisition programs. A Pittsburgh native and passionate Steelers fan, he earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Guckert answered five questions about his career and life.

Ashley Tolbert, today’s #PEOEISTeammateTuesday, manages events for the PEO EIS Strategic Communication Directorate. Never reluctant to tackle new projects, she organized the inaugural PEO EIS All Saints Ball and managed the very-first PEO EIS town hall on Microsoft Teams.

Summer is always a time of great transition in Army acquisition programs, and if you are keeping track, we have had quite a few changes in recent months (please see last month’s Perspective for recent leadership changes).

Maj. Nicole Meruvia is a confident leader who learned a lot of lessons in the school of hard knocks. As the assistant product manager for two programs—Mission Planning and Threat Emulation—Meruvia helped Defensive Cyber Operations award a Federal Acquisition Regulation-based contract within 90 days under an Agile 874 software-development-program pilot. She answered eight questions about her career and life.

Deidra McCaskill, the Enterprise Content Collaboration and Messaging (EC2M) product lead, manages five enterprise IT programs and a $137 million annual operating budget. She answered 11 questions about her career and life.

FORT BELVOIR, Va. – The Army Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) office, in coordination with the Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI), awarded a contract extension for Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – Software (ITES-SW) on August 5, 2020.
