Summer has just begun, and it's already been a busy season filled with transitioning leaders here at PEO EIS.

ACC-Rock Island released a DRAFT Prototype Project Opportunity Notice (PPON) and Statement of Need to receive industry comment and feedback on the Army's approach for an Enterprise Business Systems - Convergence (EBS-C) Prototype Project. In addition to the DRAFT PPON, the Army has included a Request for Information (RFI) Template for Industry (PPON Attachment 0000) to provide responses to seven Question Topics related to this notice. Industry should use the Question Template (PPON Attachment 0001) to submit any questions or comments. The RFI responses and questions are due by 1 p.m. ET on July 29.

PEO EIS' Cyber Directorate — responsible for supporting the acquisition organization’s cybersecurity needs — recently collaborated with PEO Soldier on a professional development exercise designed to provide the PEO Soldier workforce with insight into the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) Risk Management Framework/Authority to Operate assessment criteria.

Lt. Col. LJ Freeland is tenacious. “I won't give up,” Freeland, the Army Data Platform’s new product manager, said. “I was the worst possible West Point cadet you could probably imagine. I was young and immature, but I still made it because I did not give up. And that's how things have worked throughout my career. If there is a big project or something that has to be done, I will be there until the bitter end to make sure it gets done. I will stick around and push to get a product as perfect as possible before it leaves my hands.”

As I depart the PEO EIS Business Mission Area for Senior Service College, I wanted to share some thoughts and observations about our mission and how our great organization can maintain its unique relevancy. During the past five years, I have witnessed significant positive changes in our collaboration and communication that have enabled this organization's success.
