U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems is working closely with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Data, Engineering and Software on the initial version of its Unified Data Reference Architecture, which aims to establish the Army’s enterprise mesh services.

As acting product lead for Headquarters Army Environmental System (HQAES) at PEO EIS, Mike Underwood leads a multidisciplinary team of civilian and contractor personnel who are responsible for sustaining the HQAES system, which is used by the Army Environmental Program to provide environmental quality, restoration and performance assessment capabilities.

Less than one year after the Army began rolling out an upgraded version of its Soldier tuition and credentialing assistance portal, ArmyIgnitED, U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems and the Army Credentialing and Continuing Education Services for Soldiers have achieved full deployment of the system, effective Aug. 24, 2023.

Kelly Rutherford started off calendar year 2023 with a new role as product lead for a brand-new product office within PEO EIS’s Defense Integrated Business Systems portfolio — Foreign Military Sales – Army Case Execution System (FMS-ACES).

On June 30, Project Manager Integrated Enterprise Network (IEN) conducted an assumption of charter ceremony for the Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems (WESS) Product Management Office.

On Aug. 15, 2023, U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) and Army Contracting Command-Rock Island entered into Other Transaction Authority agreements with three vendors that were selected to develop software prototypes that converge multiple Army business systems into one, known as the Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence (EBS-C).

ArmyIgnitED achieved another key milestone in July with the release of functionality for Army civilians. With the latest capability release, the Army’s voluntary education and training portal is now available to all user groups — Soldiers, cadets and civilians.   

During COVID-19, the Army waived the requirement for Soldiers to take the Basic Leader Course (BLC) prior to their promotion. The BLC provides fundamental skills in leadership training for non-commissioned officers (NCO) and is the first course in a junior enlisted Soldier’s progression through the NCO ranks.
