ATIS Contract Awarded
ATIS Contract Awarded
NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia. – The U.S. Army Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) recently announced that Perspecta has been awarded a contract to execute the Acquisition, Testing and Deployment (AT&D) phase of the Business Capability Acquisition Cycle (BCAC) for development of the Army Training Information System (ATIS). ATIS will be the enterprise system for all aspects of Army training. The contract has a total expected value of $237.2 million over the course of 48 months.
"We are excited to begin work. Our objective is to deliver a system that will reduce the overall costs of training and provide our Soldiers with a single entry point to easily access and complete their training and educational requirements,” said Lt. Col. Jim Lee, product manager for ATIS.
ATIS will be comprised of a combination of commercial off-the-shelf and government off-the-shelf products, and will be portable, enabling the system to give time back to the Soldiers and increase overall readiness. As the system is fielded, the Army will reduce the overall cost of training by retiring duplicative, stove-piped systems, and improve performance with a net-centric, governed and architecturally compliant system.
“I think back to my days as a company commander and a young battalion S3 trying to plan, schedule, execute and manage training records in multiple systems,” said Col. Donald Burton, project manager for the General Fund Enterprise Business System. “Now we will have a ‘one-stop shop’ to do it all. This is an exciting time for the Army.”
ATIS will serve as a program of record that provides a common operational picture of the training environment through integrated, interoperable training development, management, scheduling and delivery capabilities in all three training domains - Operational, Institutional, and Self-Development. These capabilities will enable commanders, leaders, Soldiers, and civilians to better understand, visualize, describe, direct, lead and assess training requirements.
Perspecta brings a diverse set of capabilities to the ATIS program. With offerings in mission services, digital transformation and enterprise operations, the company's team of engineers, analysts and architects work to create innovative solutions. Work will take place in Newport News, Virginia.
