Happy 248th Birthday America!

In the month of July, we usher in the last quarter of fiscal year 2024, celebrate our nation’s birthday, honor many incoming and outgoing leaders at PEO EIS, and generally try to stay cool. Here’s a look at the month ahead.

ARMY HUMAN RESOURCE SYSTEMS GETS NEW PRODUCT DIRECTOR

With the May departure of product director John Crone for a new role at PEO C3T, his deputy at Army Human Resource Systems (AHRS), Gina Whitaker, stepped into the acting PD role and then was centrally selected as the permanent PD. Congratulations Gina! She will formally accept the charter for AHRS at a ceremony on July 9. In case you missed it — AHRS is now part of our Enterprise Business Systems – Convergence (EBS-C) portfolio.

ARMY DATA PLATFORM HOLDS CHANGE OF CHARTER CEREMONY

Most of our ceremonies this month are assumptions of charter, but Army Data Platform (ADP), part of our Army Data and Analytics Platforms portfolio, is an exception. On July 11, our highly esteemed ADP product manager Lt. Col. LJ Freeland will relinquish command to attend school at the Army War College. Cassandra Reilly, currently the deputy product manager for mobile electric power systems at PEO CS&CSS, will assume the charter as ADP product manager. Congratulations LJ and Cassandra!

ARMY CONTRACT WRITING SYSTEM GAINS NEW PRODUCT MANAGER

Fresh off Army Contract Writing Systems’ ACWS) latest capability release, the product office is getting a new permanent product manager. Lt. Col. Camille Morgan will assume the charter for ACWS, part of the Defense Integrated Business Systems portfolio, at a ceremony on July 19. Many thanks to Rick Harris, the deputy who stepped up as acting PdM for the past few months, and congratulations to Camille!

ENTERPRISE BUSINESS SYSTEMS – CONVERGENCE GETS PERMANENT PROJECT MANAGER

For the first time since becoming an O-6-level organization, our EBS-C Project Management Office will have a permanent project manager, effective July 23. On that day, Col. Melvin Mitchell, currently a student at the National Defense University, will assume command of EBS-C. He will replace Michael Gormley who did an outstanding job in the acting capacity since March and now will return to his role as deputy. Thanks Mike and congratulations Melvin!

OBSERVANCES

Independence Day

The U.S. Army played an essential role in the founding of the United States as an independent nation and in winning the Revolutionary War. Without the Army, there is no United States! On July 4, we honor the history and heritage of the Army for creating the conditions that allowed the Continental Congress to declare independence.

IN CLOSING

Our priority is to deliver software with speed, simplicity and excellence. I’m incredibly proud of the entire PEO EIS team and the progress we continue to make as we continue to transform the way we do business. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to gather with colleagues and families late last month at our first PEO EIS-wide organization day in five years. Wishing everyone a fun and safe summer, making time to spend with family, friends and colleagues.
