THE LOGISTICS MODERNIZATION PROGRAM (LMP) CELEBRATES 20 YEARS...AND COUNTING

(Apr. 29) When Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs first hit the scene in the 1990s, their “open architecture” was a draw for companies and organizations that wanted to avoid replacement of full systems at the end of a technology lifecycle.

 

IPPS-A ROLLOUT COMPLETE IN ARMY GUARD

(Apr. 21) The new Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army is live in all 54 states, territories and the District of Columbia, bringing the entire Army National Guard onto a single human resources system for the first time in history.

 

GFEBS-SA DEPLOYS CLASSIFIED BUSINESS SYSTEM TO NATIONAL GROUND INTELLIGENCE CENTER (NGIC) DURING COVID-19

(Apr. 23) The General Fund Enterprise Business System – Sensitive Activities (GFEBS-SA) fielded and went “live” with the classified version of the Army’s accounting, financial management and auditability software system to about 100 initial users at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

(Defense News, Apr. 30, Aaron Mehta) The Pentagon’s top acquisition official sees positive signs for the defense-industrial base, but remains concerned that enough cash may not be flowing to the smallest, most vulnerable companies in order to keep them open in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC COULD LEAVE 'A PROFOUND ECONOMIC IMPACT' ON THE PENTAGON

(Business Insider, Apr. 23, Christopher Woody) The Pentagon's top acquisition official said this week that the Defense Department expects the economic impact of the coronavirus on supply chains to delay major weapons programs for three months.

MILITARY CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN NEW COVID-19 CASES AND RECOVERIES

(Military Times, Apr. 28, Meghann Myers) With 52 service members testing positive for coronavirus on Monday, a 0.8-percent rise, the Defense Department saw one of its lowest day-over-day increases since February, and an almost equal number of recoveries, with 45 troops cleared of COVID-19 on the same day.

 

GLOBAL DEFENSE SPENDING DECLINE EXPECTED AS NATIONS DEAL WITH CORONAVIRUS

(Apr. 28) Brent Thomas, the product lead for Human Resource (HR) Solutions, has more than 24 years of acquisition experience and currently manages a $7.6 billion assisted-acquisition-management program that awards contracts for Army and Department of Defense customers.

The 2020 Senior Enterprise Talent Management (SETM) and Enterprise Talent Management (ETM) Programs are accepting applications for training opportunities in 2020.   The application window closes on 15 May 2020, so apply now. Just log into the SETM automated system https://www.csldo.army.mil/ to apply for these great opportunities for permanent Army Civilians in grades 12 -15 and pay band equivalents. DOD has not changed their timeline for Agency nominations for the DoD programs which prevents Army from changing the current deadlines for SETM/ETM applications. You must act now and log into the automated website and apply for these 2021 developmental opportunities.
