Capt. Lucas Sawtelle supports a leader who cares
March 31, 2020Capt. Lucas Sawtelle, Ms. Chérie Smith’s executive officer, is a valued member of the PEO EIS team. A Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certified Program Manager, he plans to complete his DAWIA Level III coursework in the next 18 months. He joined the Army as a college option officer candidate and received his commission as a Quartermaster officer in Fort Benning, Georgia. During his Army service, he managed logistics and retrograde operations for four Forward Operating Bases in Afghanistan. Sawtelle answered six questions about his career and life. -

Jeff Whetzel enhances events with live video
March 24, 2020Jeff Whetzel, a systems engineer who livestreams PEO EIS events and provides web-hosting services for Army websites, is a creative problem solver with a can-do-it attitude, Whetzel has always enjoyed working with computers. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard as a computer operator for six years and subsequently became an IT expert troubleshooting problems for more than 400 Washington Examiner employees. Whetzel answered nine questions about his career and life. -

March 16, 2020PEO EIS is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our Soldiers, family members, retirees and civilians both at home and abroad. Army medical staff and public health professionals continue to closely monitor the situation and are working with federal, state and local public health personnel for updates. We continue to follow all CDC guidelines and will report to the appropriate county health departments any potential novel coronavirus cases. Protecting the force includes mitigating the spread of the virus and ensuring personnel have the most up-to-date information on appropriate measures to prevent potential spread of COVID-19. Soldiers and civilians who are in the midst of traveling and need assistance should contact the 24-hour Army Service Center at 1-888-276-9472.
